Gardenlands-International

Gardenlands-International is a garden and landscaping design service bringing together traditional and modern design principles, trends and ideas, to create outdoor spaces which achieve potential often not perceived at first sight. We work very intensely to meet a client's requirements, and act largely as consultants to guide a client into what is achievable.

We are a design team, and thus are able to consider projects in any country. Nonetheless, we are not landscape architects (though we may consult one if needed). We fall between two stools, really – the skilled and talented gardener or landscaper (who often has had no training in design) and the landscape architect (who often lacks experience of what makes a living space work for those who own it). We come from practical backgrounds, and understand plants and people. We aim to tailor the garden and land to the people who will own and use it.

We have a modern approach to a traditional practice. We work with models, either real or on a computer (usually both). We use a lot of photography, which we can turn into three-dimensional drawings. We use satellite imagery and mapping. We survey, using traditional and modern instruments. We liaise online with our clients, and where possible set up live online meetings where we can see and talk to each other face to face through cyberspace, and discuss developments with reference to visual imagery.

We are well able to think 'out of the box', and relish in tackling real design challenges. We are also able to focus on achieving maximum value enhancements in any property, where design changes are able to open up potential that has been lying there waiting to happen. We are well versed in the established planning process, and will liaise with a local planning authority to achieve mutually satisfactory solutions.

We do not have size constraints. We could design a window box if required, and have in taken on interior design projects and roof gardens. We also design large landscape areas, having specialised in holiday complexes in some countries, and sustainable, environmentally friendly farming in others. You will see illustrations of some of these on our website, where you can read the interesting story behind each one.

We do not manage projects, but will act as consultants for the client to liaise with project managers, if required. It is the combination of our years of experience and our flair that causes our clients to call on our services. We value very highly the building of a good sound working relationship and confidence with our clients. Our policy is to remain small enough to ensure we can fully maintain that personal professional link with our clients so that communication can flow freely at all times. Client satisfaction is our aim.
